Eleven years ago today, a white supremacist murder Eleven years ago today, a white supremacist murdered nine people during a Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina—one of the oldest and most historically significant Black churches in America. In the weeks that followed, tens of thousands of letters and works of art arrived at the church from people around the world. Those letters stand as a lasting record of how the world responded to an act of hate. The fight against hate crimes and white supremacist violence is not over.
Our collective purchasing power is a tool for acco Our collective purchasing power is a tool for accountability. When we use it strategically, we can pressure corporations and business leaders to support policies that improve people’s lives. Make no mistake, we matter and we have a voice.
Since the 1960s, the EEOC has required many employ Since the 1960s, the EEOC has required many employers to report workplace demographic data on their employees each year—including things like job category, gender, and race/ethnicity. This data is a powerful tool for fighting workplace discrimination. It aids EEOC investigations by illustrating patterns of discrimination, allows employers to examine their own employment practices, and provides vital information to researchers, the press, and the public. The administration is threatening to end EEO-1 reporting, which will make it harder to find and address employment discrimination. Urge the EEOC to not rescind this important collection. You can’t fix something you can’t see!

When the Supreme Court handed down its ruling in L When the Supreme Court handed down its ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, it fundamentally changed the legal landscape for voting rights across the country. Georgia is set to convene a special redistricting session—the first since the ruling—with Mississippi and other states potentially to follow. The ripple effects are expected to reach not just statehouses, but county commissions, city councils, and school boards. State Voting Rights Acts are one of our most powerful remaining tools—push your legislature to pass one.
Black and Brown voters have power. The FBI raid on Black and Brown voters have power. The FBI raid on @ohorganizing is the latest example of the Trump administration weaponing its power to go after it. This is a coordinated, multi-state campaign to intimidate civil rights organizations and communities of color, and manufacture doubt ahead of the midterm elections before a single ballot is cast. Ohio is the latest victim—but it will not be the last. Hands off our vote. #HandsOffOhio
On June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court unanimously st On June 12, 1967, the Supreme Court unanimously struck down laws banning interracial marriage in Loving v. Virginia—ruling that the freedom to marry belongs to all Americans, regardless of race. This Pride Month, we keep fighting to make sure everyone can love freely and without fear.
Today, the World Cup kicks off across 11 U.S. citi Today, the World Cup kicks off across 11 U.S. cities. The games are meant to bring the world together, and yet, the Trump administration has turned host cities into enforcement zones and refused to guarantee that fans, workers, and residents won't be swept up in deportation operations. We will not stop fighting for accountability and proper oversight until ICE is governed by law and not fear.
Kimberlee Williams' case is not an anomaly. Facial Kimberlee Williams' case is not an anomaly. Facial recognition technology is notoriously bad at identifying non-white, non-male faces. When the algorithm is wrong, the consequences mean lasting damage to someone's health, family, and livelihood. We demand accountability and civil rights guardrails on AI before more people pay the price for a system that was never built to protect them.
Last week, our coalition came together at the 2026 Last week, our coalition came together at the 2026 We the Majority Reception to convene, coordinate, and recommit to the fight ahead. In the midst of the most difficult threats to our civil rights we've faced in generations, we saw a renewed commitment to each other—and to the belief that we cannot and will not let these attacks go unanswered. We, the Majority, will not simply return to where we were. We will build something altogether new.
Who is really manufacturing hate? Today, the Hou Who is really manufacturing hate? Today, the House Judiciary Committee is holding another hearing targeting @SPLCenter—a civil rights organization that protects your vote, exposes hate groups, and defends communities from violence. The SPLC has taken down the Ku Klux Klan, secured fairer voting maps for Black communities in Alabama and Louisiana, and documented extremist threats before they turned into violence. This is the work this administration wants to put on trial. Meanwhile, this administration pardoned the Proud Boys, tried to wipe the criminal records of the leaders who stormed the Capitol, and brought criminal charges against a civil rights organization without following proper judicial processes. Civil rights groups across this country are watching, and we will not stay silent.
Today, we remember James Byrd Jr. He was dragged Today, we remember James Byrd Jr. He was dragged to his death by white supremacists because he was Black. His murder was the catalyst for the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. Sadly, laws alone are not enough. While the Trump regime, its Justice Department, and their cronies continue to minimize, ignore, or fail to address hate-fueled violence, we must honor Byrd's memory by pushing our government to fully enforce the laws on the books, accurately track hate crimes, and confront the rising threats facing targeted communities today. Say his name. Demand action.
The @SPLCenter's indictment was decided before the The @SPLCenter's indictment was decided before the DOJ interviewed a single employee or requested a single document. A federal court just threw out another case on the exact same grounds. Dismiss this case.

Spread the word

Did you know that millions of Americans can’t access the democratic process because of solvable problems in how elections are run? These problems aren’t felt equally across communities – voters of color are 6x more likely than White voters to wait longer than an hour to vote, even in the same town. Spread the word to help defeat barriers to the ballot box.
